For the second consecutive year Andrea Dollinger, a junior trombone player at St. Marys Area High School, participated in the All-State Wind Ensemble during the 2014 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) annual conference held in Hershey.
"Only kids that have exceptional talent make it to the All-State Festival," said Christopher Gankosky, SMAHS band director.
Dollinger began this year's journey to Hershey by qualifying for a series of PMEA festivals including district, regional and all-state band performances.
As part of the 82-member wind ensemble, Dollinger ranked second in the group following her audition process. At districts she ranked fourth moving up to the No. 1 spot at regionals.
"I really enjoyed the opportunity to play with such great musicians, the best of the best," Dollinger said.
