The Keystone Elk Country Alliance was excited to host Memorial Parks Day Camp Tuesday at the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette. The youngsters started off a fun day with a trail walk where they learned about the Center and the grounds lead by Conservation Education Specialist, Nicole Meyer. Part of their day was spent with an educational hands on talk about elk, antlers, pelts and the history of the herd which is celebrating its 100th anniversary of the restoration of elk in Pa.  No trip to the Center is complete without experiencing the 4D story theater that reinforces what the kids have just learned about elk. This was the third group from Memorial Park to visit with the Elk Country Visitor Center this summer and staff members enjoyed having time with them all.
