Dale E. "Homer" Reed

Dale E. "Homer" Reed, 58, of 64 Station Rd., Daguscahonda, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 in Jones Township, Elk County.

He was born March 5, 1952 in Bradford, a son of the late Melvin and Viola Beck Reed.
Dale was a lifelong resident of the area.  He graduated from SMAHS, Class of 1970, and worked for many years at Airco Carbon Company. He enjoyed motorcycles and spending time with his dog, Sam. He also enjoyed going to camp, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Simon of St. Marys and Connie, Mrs. Henry Dunn of Kennedy, NY; a brother, Jay Reed and his wife, Mary, of Daguscahonda; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, who died in 1956, and his mother, who died in 1996, he was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Reed, in 1976.
Funeral services for Dale E. "Homer" Reed will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael St., St. Marys, on Monday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Kindle, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Monday from noon until the time of the service.
