Crusaders hold off Owls for 4-1 victory

April 19, 2013

The Bradford Owls visited Berwind Park for the second day in a row on Thursday, this time taking on the Elk County Catholic Crusader squad. Much of the game was a pitcher's duel, with neither side able to generate much offense in the early innings. The Crusaders got on the board with a two-run home run by Ivan Wortman in the bottom of the fourth, added another pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth, and then worked out of a jam in the top of the seventh to come away with the 4-1 win.
