RIDGWAY – Elk County Commissioners on Tuesday voted to approve a five-year deal with Zito Media for the purchase of a new phone system.
According to Jim Abbey, director of the county's IT department, the switchover will do wonders and provide a higher level of service.
"We decided we wanted to go with a voice over IP system and we'll be able to save money almost immediately," Abbey said. "The return on the investment will probably be about two years, two and a half years tops."
The current phone system utilized by the county recently hit its end-of-life date as well.
