Clarence G. "Butch" Gausman

Clarence G. "Butch" Gausman, 92, of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 276 N. St. Marys St., St. Marys, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 21, 1918 in St. Marys, a son of the late Fred and Margaret Krug Gausman.
Mr. Gausman was a member of St. Mary's Church. He served in the Army during World War II from 1944 until 1946. He retired from Speer Carbon Company after more than 40 years of service. He enjoyed watching sports on television.
He is survived by two sisters, Bertha Knouse and Marie Gausman both of St. Marys; a niece, Jane, Mrs. David Shaffer of St. Marys; a great-nephew; and a great-great-niece.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence G. "Butch" Gausman will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 139 Church St., St. Marys, on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, OSB, as celebrant.
A military service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch- Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
