Whether area residents like it or not winter weather has officially arrived in St. Marys, and the first snowfalls of the season typically go hand-in-hand with complaints about winter road maintenance.
According to City Manager Dave Greene, in addition to the roughly 76 miles of roads in St. Marys that are maintained by the city, there are also various state roads within the city limits that are under PennDOT's jurisdiction.
"We work closely with PennDOT to see that those things are taken care of," Greene said.
The city currently has 12 employees on their road crew and 17 vehicles that can be used for snow plowing, snow removal, salting, or sanding.
