City withdraws resolution due to lack of information

May 13, 2013

A unanimous vote pertaining to a resolution regarding a land improvement project within the city was thrown out by members of St. Marys City Council during their most recent meeting.
The Keystone Communities Development Grant, included in the resolution, was tabled from council's agenda last month in hopes of discovering additional information. While the city did receive new information, they are still missing pertinent details.
The resolution would have permitted Tina Gradizzi, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) coordinator, to submit a grant application for $488,000 to the Pa. Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to be used towards the acquisition, demolition and clearance along with all costs related to the Depot Street Land Improvement Project.
"We're suggesting that we throw out this resolution until we have an exact figure to go with the grant," Gradizzi said, referring to the need to obtain updated appraisals on Depot Street properties.
She said the city's appraisals are a bit outdated.
