Charles J. Polaski

Charles J. Polaski, 89, of Louisiana Lane, Johnsonburg, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, Marienville.
He was born Oct. 6, 1923 in Ridgway, son of the late Pete and Stella Polaski. On March 7, 1962 he married Karen Elmquist, who survives.
He lived all his life in Johnsonburg and worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for more than 43 years. He was Catholic by faith and enjoyed walking and gardening. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others.
In addition to his wife, Karen (Elmquist) Polaski of Johnsonburg, he is survived by five children, Charles H. Polaski of Johnsonburg, William Polaski of Johnsonburg, Ronald Polaski of Johnsonburg, Philip Polaski of Johnsonburg, and Timothy Polaski of Johnsonburg; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Erickson of Johnsonburg and Irene Wilcox of Maryland; and a brother, Edwin "Cat" Polaski of St. Marys.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 17 siblings and a great-grandson.
Funeral services for Charles J. Polaski will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg, with the Reverend Donald Smith officiating.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 12-1 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg.
