Catherine L. "Cathy" Rimer

Catherine L. "Cathy" Rimer, 56, of 163 Rita Lane, Weedville, died Monday evening, April 1, 2013 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
She was born February 28, 1957 in Punxsutawney, daughter of the late Lee and Myrtle Smith Barnett.
On June 3, 1978 in the Weedville Wesleyan Church she married Rick Rimer, who survives.
Mrs. Rimer was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of the St. Marys Area High School, class of 1975. She also attended Penn State University in DuBois. She was a former employee of the former Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Weedville Wesleyan Church and was a former member of the church choir, enjoyed playing the piano and singing, was a Ham Radio operator, and enjoyed being with her family.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, David R. Rimer of Butler and Daniel E. Rimer of Weedville; two sisters, Helen Swackhammer and her husband Russ of Weedville and Betty Hoehn and her husband Ted of St. Marys; three brothers, Darl "Hoag" Smith of Weedville, Mervin Barnett and his wife Lois of Weedville, and Harold Barnett and his wife Joanne of Byrnedale; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyne Deghan; and a brother, Richard Barnett.
Funeral Services for Catherine L. Rimer will be held at the Weedville Wesleyan Church on Friday, April 5 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Luther Nelson Jr., pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow int he St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Weedville Wesleyan Church.
