Several branches of Northwest Savings Bank are supporting Elk County Relay for Life by holding a basket fundraiser.
The Plaza and downtown branches in St. Marys and the Ridgway NWSB branch are participating in "Banking for a Cure," which will run through the end of April. The drawing to determine the basket winners will be held April 4. Angel Leader, a management trainee at NWSB's Plaza branch in St. Marys, said anyone is welcome to stop in and make a donation for an opportunity to win the baskets, which were generously provided by area businesses, individuals, and bank employees at the participating branches.
"We just want people to stop out," Leader said. "It's for a good cause."
NWSB Customer Service Representative Sharon Barbazzeni said Relay for Life is a great way to support area residents with cancer and remember those who have died from the disease.
