Area police clamp down on bath salt use, trafficking

Photo submitted by Emporium Borough Police Pictured are reported bath salts and drug paraphernalia seized by Emporium Borough Police in an April 4 search warrant. 35-year-old Donald Osti Jr. of Emporium was arrested and charged with possession of bath salts, various prescription medication, marijuana, and over 300 used and new syringes.

EMPORIUM – A spike in the number of arrests involving stimulant bath salts continues in the wake of what local law enforcement are calling the drug's dramatic rise in Elk and Cameron Counties.
On Thursday, March 21, a routine traffic stop yielded a bag of what police believe to be bath salts as well as drug paraphernalia.
