Penn Highlands Healthcare is working with an independent emergency medicine physician group to assist with provider staffing in three of the system's emergency departments, including Penn Highlands Elk.
This practice, however, has no adverse impacts on emergency department physicians currently employed at the facility and is in place only to assure a full complement of physicians, according to hospital officials.
