Agnes M. Calla

Agnes M. Calla, 95, of 230 Beech Street, Johnsonburg, died Tuesday evening, April 9, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 10, 1917 in Rasselas, daughter of the late Peter and Leona Markert Myers.
On June 8, 1943 she married Ferdinand "Fred" Calla, and he preceded her in death May 11, 1999.
Formerly of Rasselas, she resided in Johnsonburg most of her life. She graduated from Wilcox High School and was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She had worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. and the Ridgway Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Calla of Kersey and John T. Calla and his wife Mary Ann of Johnsonburg; three daughters, Theresa, Mrs. Patrick Murray of Glenshaw, Mary, Mrs. Jack Mecca of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Rose Calla of Ridgway; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Francis, Arthur, Edward and Robert Myers, and a brother in infancy; and two sisters, Bertha Pupo and Erma Dellaquila.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes M. Calla will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg on Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Rasselas.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
