Crusaders defeat North Clarion 14-4 in D9-A quarterfinals

The Elk County Catholic Crusaders picked up their first win of the postseason with a 14-4 five-inning victory over North Clarion on Thursday evening at Berwind Park in the District 9 Class A quarterfinals.

Lady Crusader softball advances to 9-A semifinals

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader softball team advanced to the District 9-A semifinals with a 10-0, five inning victory over the Coudersport Lady Falcons Wednesday afternoon at Benzinger Park.
Elk Catholic will now meet the DuBois Central Lady Cardinals next Tuesday at a site and time to be announced. DuBois Central eliminated Curwensville by a 2-0 score Wednesday.

Lady Crusaders claim D9-AA team title

A cloudy, cool, and occasionally rainy day did not stop the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders from shining at the District 9 Class AA Track and Field Championships at the Kane Area High School on Friday. Members of the team claimed seven District 9 title, the District 9 team title, and senior Nicole Florio was named the girls' Jim Manners Award winner.

SMA brings home five gold medals from 9-AAA track and field championships

The St. Marys Area Track and Field teams competed in the District 9-AAA championships Wednesday afternoon at the Brookville Area track and field complex.
The Lady Dutch placed third in the girls standing with 67 points. DuBois Area won the team title with 122.8 points. Bradford was second with 98 followed by St. Marys 67, Punxsutawney 29.25 and Clearfield with 22.
The Dutchmen placed fifth with 34 points. Bradford won the team title with 146 points followed by DuBois 70, Punxsy 69, Clearfield 53 and St. Marys 34.

Crusaders dealt 3-0 setback by Bradford Owls

A day after recording back-to-back shutouts, the Elk County Catholic Crusaders found themselves on the opposite end of things as they were held scoreless in a 3-0 loss Wednesday to the Bradford Owls on a chilly and windy afternoon at Berwind Park.

Crusaders shut out Kane, DCC

The Elk County Catholic Crusader baseball team recorded a pair of shutouts on Tuesday in back-to-back games against the Kane Wolves and the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals at Berwind Park. In the afternoon game, ECC senior Ryan Seelye three a three-inning no-hitter and struck out six as the Crusaders defeated Kane 15-0. In the nightcap, which was played under the lights, the Crusaders blanked DCC 4-0.
