ECC hosts Johnsonburg this afternoon
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader softball team put together a four-run first inning on Saturday and held on to win their home opener 6-1 over the visiting Brockway Lady Rovers in a contest played on a breezy but sunny afternoon at Benzinger Park.

The Elk County Catholic Crusader tennis team saw their record slip to 1-1 on the young season as they lost an 8-1 match to the DuBois Area Beavers Thursday afternoon at the Benzinger and Memorial Park courts.

The Blue Tide swim team held its annual awards banquet on Thursday, March 28. After the meal head coach Mary Secco thanked her assistant coaches for the season, Travis Secco, Rachel Schreiber, Liz Thorwart, and Scott Scutella.

Johnsonburg boys basketball's season did not end as sweet as the Rams would have hoped for.
But in the end, Johnsonburg made the District 12 champion Vaux Cougars work to earn their gold medals.
The St. Marys Area High School recognized winter sports athletes Thursday night at the annual SMAHS Winter Sports Program held in Carpin Auditorium.
Elk County Catholic High School held its 2012-2013 Winter Athletic Awards Program on Wednesday evening to celebrate the accomplishments of the school system's athletes in basketball, wrestling, swimming and diving, gymnastics, and junior high volleyball.

LEWISBURG — The St. Marys Area swimmers finished on a high note when they concluded day two of the PIAA AA Swim & Dive Championships at Bucknell on Thursday.
For the Lady Dutch, their whirlwind season ended just as it began, with two of the squad’s top performers swimming personal bests while breaking their own school records, while the Dutchmen found a little magic on Thursday morning. sending one into the consolation finals that night.

LEWISBURG — The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch added a few more milestone performances to their already-impressive resume when they competed in the PIAA AA Swim & Dive Championships at Bucknell University on Wednesday.Â
The St. Marys Area girls set two more school records in two of their three events on day one of the two-day meet. And in another team first, the 200-yard freestyle relay of Cori Wendel, Tayler Gnan, Kylee Proudfit and Emma Daghir advanced to the evening consolation finals as a result of their morning performance.

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch swim and dive team captured the District 9 Class AA swim championship Saturday that was held at Clarion University.

The St. Marys Area Swim and Dive team will compete at the 2013 PIAA District IX Swim and Dive Championships Saturday at Clarion University’s Tippin Natatorium.
