Miami QB Ryan Tannehill threw 2 second half touchdowns to rally a comeback victory over Buffalo. Buffalo was moving the ball up and down the field early, but could not seem to find the end zone to cap drivers. They clung to a 9-3 lead as they kept Miami in check. Tannehill was able to rally his team’s offense to score 19 unanswered points to seal the game and second place in the AFC East.

Karns City downs Dutchmen 49-12 for D9-AA title

The Karns City Gremlins captured the District 9 Class AA football championship Friday night with a 49-12 victory over the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen in a game played at Clarion University's Memorial Stadium.

The St. Marys Area High School held its Fall Sports Award Program Wednesday evening in Carpin Auditorium.
Those student athletes who competed in boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, golf, volleyball and girls tennis were recognized.

Crusaders' season ends with 39-0 rout by Kane

When the Kane Wolves dominated the Elk County Catholic Crusaders 39-0 in a District 9 Class A quarterfinal match on Saturday night at Dutch Country Stadium, Kane head coach Todd Silfies explained that the strong showing by his squad was about more than just avenging a close 13-12 senior night loss earlier in the season and staying alive in the playoffs.

11th annual UAVSL senior games held Saturday

The 11th annual UAVSL Senior Girls and Senior Boys soccer games were held at Frank Varischetti Field in Brockway on Saturday.
The games give area senior soccer players a final chance to play alongside some of their teammates as well as to play both with and against some of the familiar foes they faced throughout their high school careers. Several players from both St. Marys Area High School and Elk County Catholic High School competed in both games.

Dutchmen advance to 9-AA finals with 7-6 victory

When Zach Fox kicked the extra point after his team's touchdown with 49 seconds left in the first half, little did he know the it would be the game-winner.
The St. Marys Area Dutchmen edged the Moniteau Warriors 7-6 Friday night at Dutch Country Stadium to advance to the District 9 Class AA championship game against Karns City next Friday night at Clarion University at 7 p.m.

Lady Crusaders fall to Maplewood in PIAA opening round

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders saw their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to the Maplewood Lady Tigers in the opening round of the PIAA Class A volleyball playoffs. A number of parents and fans also made the trek to Cochranton High School to cheer on the Lady Crusaders. Maplewood, the District 10 champion, won in straight sets, 25-20, 25-13, and 25-12.
