Edmund Frayne Adamson Sr., 88, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at the Communities at Indiana Haven.
He was born July 21, 1925 in Washington Township, Indiana County, son of George Edward and Molly Lillie (Jewart) Adamson.
Surviving is his grandson, Thomas Steis and his mother, Sherry Steis, both of Johnsonburg; a brother, Gerald E. Adamson and his wife Virginia â€śJeanâ€ť Adamson of Homer City; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert Paul Anderson, 54, of St. Marys died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014.
Born in Ridgway, Robert was the son of the late Rodger and Mary Anderson.
Robert graduated from the School of Hard Knox, working most of his life as a logger and a forester. He loved fishing, the outdoors, dogs, baseball and most of all, his family.
He is survived by four children, Daniel, Dana, Cole and Megan.
James B. "Mally" Mallison, 84, of 162 S. Paul Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at his residence.
He was born June 9, 1929, in St. Marys, son of the late Bernard "Barney" and Florence Geeck Mallison. On Aug. 24, 1957, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Mary R. Reuscher, and she survives.
Marie T. DeGroat, 84, of Grant Road, Ridgway, died Jan. 30, 2014, at Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility.
She was born March 18, 1929, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Robert DeGroat and Irene Moore.
She was a lifelong Ridgway resident.
She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and the St. John of God Society. She had been employed at Alltel for 42 years, retiring in 1991.
Wanda M. (Woodring) Biss, 74, of Loop Road, Marion Center, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at the Hillsdale Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Wanda was born Dec. 12, 1939 in St. Marys, daughter of Rexford Jessie Woodring and Nila (Beldin) Woodring Smith, both of whom preceded her in death.
She attended Benezette School and was a member of the United Free Methodist Church of Marion Center. She worked at Inter Electric Company of Warren. She enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Cheryl M. Herzing, 57, of 111 Polk Ave., Ridgway, died unexpectedly Friday morning, Jan. 31, 2014 at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born Feb. 16, 1956 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Robert G. and Joyce M. (Wehler) Vogt Sr. She married Daniel F. Herzing Jr. on Aug. 19, 1983.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1981 and was a former St. Marys resident. She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, the C.D. of A., a past St. Leo's Bingo Chairman, the Ridgway Little League, the Rocket Cheerleaders and the RAHS Gymnastics Boosters, and was also the caretaker of Yolonda Jeselinick.
Sylvia J. Feldbauer, 70, of 317 Braun Rd., St. Marys, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 28, 1943 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Luke and Sara Jane Miles Schaberl.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1961. She was also a 1963 graduate of Ogden Nursing School in Elymira, N.Y., and a 1981 graduate of Syracuse University.
On Nov. 7, 1964 in the Queen of the World Church, she married Paul J. Feldbauer, who survives.
Helene â€śDeDeeâ€ť Maholtz, 65, Bennetts Valley Highway, Weedville, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
She was June 22, 1948 in Weedville, daughter of the late Geno DeCarli and Helen (Wadding) DeCarli, of Weedville, who survives.
On April 7, 1990, she married Philip â€śKennyâ€ť Maholtz, who survives.
She was a graduate of St. Marys High School and the Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology in DuBois.
She was owner/operator of DeDeeâ€™s Hair Shop in Weedville.
Edith Marie DeStefano, 94, of Savoy, Ill., formerly of Williamsport, died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at Carle Hospital, Urbana. She was surrounded by her family and devoted caregivers.
Edith was born Feb. 25, 1919 in Kersey daughter of Benjaminio and Erminia Morelli Carlini. She married John Angelo DeStefano on Nov. 25, 1948 in Ridgway.
Dr. Dodie (Dolores) Fleming Meier died on Jan. 28, 2014 after a battle with Alzheimerâ€™s disease.
She completed her undergraduate work in education at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in counseling psychology at New Mexico State University. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honorary society and the American Psychological Association. She was named to Whoâ€™s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Dodie served as a clinical therapist and counselor as well as an associate professor.
