Helen Schauer, 82, of Greensburg, formerly of Hunker, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 in Nature Park Commons in Greensburg.
She was born July 23, 1932 in Emporium, daughter of the late Max and Susan (Vanderlick) Kofler.
She was a member St. Bruno Church of South Greensburg and the C. D. of A.
She is retired from the Westmoreland Courthouse.
Rose M. Nelson, 86, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 397 Berwind St., St. Marys, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at Elk Haven after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 11, 1928 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn Meklar Steinbach. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. She was a retired cafeteria worker at the South St. Marys Street Elementary School.
On Dec. 26, 1951 she married Roy Oscar Nelson, who preceded her in death Nov. 11, 2011.
Grace C. Gregory, 90, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of 596 S. St. Marys St., St. Marys, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Rasselas, a daughter of the late Maurice and Mary Keilocker MacDonald.
On May 23, 1953 in St. Leo's Church, she married Leo E. Gregory, who preceded her in death July 4, 1987.
Richard Joseph Peter Kowalski, 50, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved brother, uncle, and friend, he was born July 2, 1964.
A resident of Johnsonburg, and a 1983 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School, he was an employee of Roy B. Constable's Stores. Richard was loved by many, and always brought a special spirit into any room. He lived life to the fullest every day. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, and playing cards with friends.
Mary Jane (Volovar) Powers, 60, of Enola died in her home on Nov. 29, 2014.
She was born in St. Marys on Dec. 20, 1953.
She graduated from New Castle Business College with a degree specializing in medical records. She was employed as a Medical Records Specialist at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio for 30 years. For the past eight years she was Medical Records Supervisor at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. The cards she would so consistently send will be missed.
Vernon L. "Pops" Ruby, 72, a resident of Elk Haven and formerly of East Eschbach Road, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014 at Elk Haven after a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1942 in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Vernon and Elizabeth Ruby. He had resided in St. Marys since 2005. He was a retired employee of Carol's Awnings in Baltimore.
William Henry Felton, 85, of 45 Wards Landing Rd., St. Helena, S.C., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, S.C. following a brief illness.
He was born May 5, 1929, son of the late Edna Elizabeth Wolf Felton and Emerson Felton. He married Monica J. Meyer on Nov. 20, 1954.
Victoria â€śVickiâ€ť Burlingame, 58, of Byrnedale, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at UPMC Montefiore after a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 8, 1956, daughter of Bonnie (Armstrong) Emery of Warren, and the late Keith Wegemer.
On Aug. 23, 1980, she married John â€śGregâ€ť Burlingame.
She was a graduate of Cameron County Area High School and studied at FLAME to become an Ordained Minister on Oct. 24, 2010.
Gloria D. Gasbarre, 85, of West Long Avenue, DuBois, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Dec. 11, 1928 in Lackawanna, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leona Ellinger.
On April 17, 1948 in Ridgway, she married George P. Gasbarre Sr. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2008.
Prior to moving to DuBois in 1970, she and her husband lived in St. Louis, Mo.
She was a homemaker and had previously worked alongside her husband during the founding years of Gasbarre Products.
Benjamin Gregori, 82, of Peach Street, Weedville, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at Mt. Laurel Nursing Home after a short illness.
He was born June 22, 1932 in Cardiff, son of the late Martin and Theresa (Zambanini) Gregori.
He worked in local coal mines in his younger years and later, Speer Carbon, Corbett Cabinets and Jay Township Municipal Authority.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sinnemahoning Sportsmenâ€™s Club and enjoyed hunting.
He lived all his life in Bennetts Valley.
