Gary J. Streich Sr.

Gary J. Streich Sr., 77, of 4381 Grant Rd., Ridgway, died Thursday evening, Oct. 9, 2014 at his residence.
He was born April 28, 1937 in Ridgway, son of the late Woodrow T. and Emma M. (Amacher) Streich.
He married Linda E. Carlson on Sept. 5, 1959, and she preceded him in death May 22, 2014.

Kenneth E. Huber

Kenneth E. Huber, 73, of Grove Street, Johnsonburg, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 9, 1940 in Johnsonburg, son of the late John and Elsie (Schenck) Huber. On July 19, 1964, he married Carolyn (Newman), and she survives. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary in July.
He was a member of the Johnsonburg Senior Center, Central Hose Co. and past member of Rolfe Sportsmen’s. He enjoyed his daily walks and especially loved his time with his grandchildren.

Albert G. Treylinek, 89, of 113 Villa Rd., St. Marys, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Clifford D. Singer

October 7, 2014

Clifford D. Singer, 56, of 36 Singer Lane, Emporium, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 7 morning.
He was born June 22, 1958 in St. Marys, a son of Celine Gerber Singer and the late George J. Singer of St. Marys.
Cliff was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #368, Emporium, the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW and the Knights of Columbus Christabelle Club.

Nancy C. Dinsmore

Nancy C. Dinsmore, 75, of 400 Main St., Kersey, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at her home followed by a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 20, 1939, a daughter of the late Harold and Doris Goodreau Sherry.
On July 5, 1958 in St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y., she married Charles Dinsmore, who preceded her in death May 2, 1982.

“Mimi” Mildred Fritz Troha

“Mimi” Mildred Fritz Troha, 77, a lifelong resident of St. Marys, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 surrounded by family and friends.
Mimi was born on June 25, 1937, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Theodore “Babe” Fritz and Elva Herzing Fritz.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1955 and married Bob Troha in 1958.
She began working at G.C. Murphy’s in high school, then in the main office at Stackpole Carbon Company as a secretary until the couple had five children in seven years. Later, she worked at J.C. Penney, making lifelong friends.

Raymond Baptist Gornati

Raymond Baptist Gornati, 85, of Bennetts Valley, Penfield, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
He was born Aug. 29, 1929 in Coal Hollow, son of the late Renaldo and Angelina (Bianchi) Gornati.
On Dec. 2, 1950, he married Victoria Catherine (Skrzypek) in St. Joseph Church.
He served with the U.S. army as Corporal in engineering battalion during the Korean War. He worked in Northwest Coal Mines in Toby, construction for Manno Construction of Ridgway and maintenance for Exotic Metals of Ridgway before retiring in 1973.

Mary L. Thomas

Mary L. Thomas, 81, of Scattertown, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at home.
She was born July 23, 1933 in Gardner Hill, daughter of the late Glenn and Lyida (Wolff) Smith.
She married John Thomas on Feb. 18, 1955, and he preceded her in death in March 1996.
She was a housewife and resided in Scattertown all her life. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Mary was a member of the Penfield Free Methodist Church and was attending the Weedville Wesleyan Church.

Katherine Rose Luhr

Katherine Rose Luhr, 63, of New Brighton, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014.
She was born April 3, 1951 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Alvin and Caroline Knouse Luhr.
The first part of her life was spent at home in St. Marys. In 2001, she moved to McGuire Memorial Home in New Brighton where she resided until her death.
Kathy enjoyed working in the greenhouse, swimming, football, social activities, and especially, her baseball hat collection.
Although she was a special needs person, she reminded us of the preciousness of life with her boundless energy.

Gula Lona Watkavitch

Gula Lona Watkavitch, 94, of Baumertown, died suddenly at home Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014.
She was born April 7, 1920 in Baumertown, daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Buskirk) Lovenduski.
On Jan. 3, 1942, she married John J. Watkavitch in St. Joseph Church. He preceded her in death May 15, 2000.
She was a 1939 graduate of Bennetts Valley High School. She was a floor aide for St. Marys hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and enjoyed Polka dancing, crocheting and especially time with her grandchildren.
She lived all her life in Baumertown.
