LeRoy E. Bedford Jr., 45, of East Main Street, Ridgway, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 28, 2011.
He was born Feb. 25, 1965 in Ridgway, a son of the late LeRoy E. and Jean (Stelene) Bedford Sr.
 He is survived by three children, Chastity Bennett of Massachusetts, Hope Bedford of North Carolina and Kacie Bedford of Crosby; seven grandchildren; a sister, Debra Eck of Jersey Shore; and several nieces and nephews, including Alisha Bedford of Williamsport.
January 28th
LeRoy Swanson, 84, of 151 Dagus Mines Rd., Kersey, died Thursday evening, January 27, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 18, 1927 in Dagus Mines, a son of the late Frederick and Christine Mosier Swanson.
On Feb. 7, 1948 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, he married the late Marcella Geitner Swanson, who preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2005.
Gary E. Dias, 61, of Ridgway, died Jan. 28, 2011, at Elk Regional Health Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 8, 1949 on Mother’s Day in Ridgway, the son of the late Eugene Charles and Lucille Evelyn Shilk Dias.
On Jan. 22, 1970, he married Vicki Ann Ryan, who survives, at Faith United Church of Christ.
January 26th
Nancy N. Kunert (nee Lowry), 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and formerly of Ridgway, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011.
She was the wife of the late David W. Kunert and the daughter of the late Dr. James and Gretchen Lowry.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Kunert, Mary (Charles) Forman, and Gretchen (the late Robert Joseph) Carle; a son, James K. (Sherry) Kunert; a sister, Susan (William) Kiggins; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Esther M. Feldbauer, 85, of Elk Towers and formerly of 178 Queens Rd., St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at Cedars Hospice Center in Monroeville following a short illness.
She was born Sept. 4, 1925 in Driftwood, a daughter of the late Mark and Beatrice Winslow Blanchard.
On Jan. 3, 1943 in St. Mary's Church, she married the late Michael Feldbauer, who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1995.
January 25th
John H. "Doc" Schauer, 82, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of 234 George St., St. Marys, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 24, 1928 in St. Marys, a son of the late Anthony J. and Luitgard Schinabeck Schauer.
Harry A. Detwiler, 90, of 216 Depot St., Ridgway, died peacefully on Jan. 21, 2011.
He was born at home in Johnsonburg on May 25, 1920, son of the late John M. and Bessie (Stine) Detwiler.
He married Audrey Geyer on Oct. 8, 1942. She preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 2004 after 61 years of marriage.
He had resided in Ridgway for most of his life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. Up until his death, he was active in the Regional Advisory Board and Governing Board of the Office of Human Services, most recently serving as president.
Jennie Marie Rigard Afton, 96, a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville and a former resident of 232 Charles St., St. Marys, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2011 at the Jefferson Manor.
She was born April 13, 1914, in Force, daughter of the late Anthony and Eda Bellini Petrucelli.
Paul D. Schultz Sr., 63, of 8166 Shiloh Road, Woodland, and a former Wilcox resident, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Ridgway, son of the late Michael John and Josephine Bullers Schultz Sr.
On May 26, 1973, in the Queen of the World Church, he married Mary M. Greenthaner, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of Wilcox until moving to Woodland three years ago. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1965.
January 24th
James C. "Duffy" Haberberger, 82, formerly of 1050 S. Michael Rd., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 5, 1928 in St. Marys, a son of the late Fred and Margaret Friedl Haberberger.
On Oct. 4, 1956 in Queen of the World Church, he married Anna Mae Lecker Haberberger, who survives.
