Robert R. Schauer Sr.

Robert R. Schauer Sr., 76, of 102 Cherry Rd., Kersey, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born July 2, 1938 in St. Marys, son of the late Wilfred and Marcella Lecker Schauer. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1956. On Jan. 25, 1985, in St. Marys, he married Joyce Blessel Krise, who survives.
He was a lifelong mechanic and owner of the former B & B Sunoco in St. Marys. He was also a retired employee of the Keystone Powdered Metal Co., retiring in 2002.

Clarence J. "Hans" Arnold

Clarence J. "Hans" Arnold, 98, of 640 Cedar Rd., St. Marys, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 following a short illness.
He was born April 8, 1916, a son the late George and Mary Rumpelein Arnold.
On June 14, 1943, he married Grace E. Parisi, who preceded him in death May 22, 1997 from Lou Gehrig's Disease.

William O. Emmert, 92, of 522 Walnut St., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1922, son of the late William and Theresa Miller Emmert.
On April 19, 1947 in St. Joseph Church in Force, he married Concetta "Jennie" Cataldi Emmert, who survives.

Alice E. Rigard

Alice E. Rigard, 96, of 515 North St. Marys Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Pinecrest Manor following a short illness.
She was born June 20, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph Hannibal and Genevieve Geitner Hannibal Wilhelm.
On Jan. 18, 1937 in Olean, N.Y., she married Francis A. Rigard, who preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1979.

Roger Albert Padasak

Roger Albert Padasak, 82, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 590 Walnut St., St. Marys, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at Elk Haven after a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 14, 1933 in Wilcox, son of the late Peter and Antonia Feikles Padasak. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Wilcox Schools. He was a retired employee of the Keystone Carbon Company, retiring in 1995 after 28 years of service.
On July 13, 1957 in the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married his loving wife, Elizabeth “Delores” Mishenko, who survives.

Catherine M. Overturf

Catherine M. Overturf, 99, of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Ridgway, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born Feb. 28, 1915 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Lucie Ricardo Piccirillo. She married Walter Overturf, who preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1992.
She resided most of her life in Ridgway. Mrs. Overturf was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and the Ridgway S.O.I. She was a graduate of St. Leo's High School.

Lora R. VanSlander

Lora R. VanSlander, 63, of 1189 E. Eschbach Rd., St. Marys, died Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 30, 1951 in San Bernardino, Calif., daughter of the late Duane Huff and Betty Reed Huff Conner, who survives, of Caledonia. On Dec. 20, 2002, in St. Marys, she married Thomas A. VanSlander, who survives.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Nogales Schools in California. She was a retired employee of Metco Industries. Lora enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Yvonne B. Oertly

Yvonne B. Oertly, 81, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 133 Hayes Rd., Kersey, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 10, 1934 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Walfred and Henrietta Yarick Holmquist. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School, Class of 1951.
On Jan. 17, 1953 in the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, she married Clifford R. Oertly, who survives.

James M. Hoyt

James M. Hoyt, 73, of 39738 State St. in Ridgway, died Saturday morning, Jan. 17, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born July 30, 1941 in Jamestown, N.Y., son of the late John J. and Margaret (Taraska) Hoyt Sekelsky.
He married Beverly J. Pontious on June 19, 1965.
He had resided in Ridgway for the last 50 years, and he was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church and a past K of C member.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards and polka music.
He had served in the U.S. Navy, and he was a peacetime veteran.

Adda R. Lundy

Adda R. Lundy, 102, of Caledonia, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 11, 1912 in Caledonia, daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Hewitt) Tyler.
On Nov. 5, 1928, she married Leo T. Lundy who preceded her in death Dec. 13, 1997.
She worked at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital for many years in the housekeeping department.
She was a member of the Caledonia Methodist Church, Bennetts Valley Senior Center and the Bennetts Valley Legion Auxiliary.
She lived all her life in Caledonia.
