The Jersey Shore area along the East Coast was devastated in the wake of Superstorm Sandy last month, but St. Marys residents have managed to bring the residents there a little comfort and joy throughout the Christmas season through their generous donations.
Even though donations received in this year's Coaches vs. Cancer campaign at the Elk County Holiday Basketball Tournament fell short of matching last year's total of $1,200, more than $800 was still able to be raised to benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, according to Roben Daghir, volunteer survivor for outreach and awareness.
